Description

     Potentials of the random pulse width modulation (RPWM) technique for mitigation of the acoustic and electromagnetic noise emitted by adjustable- speed ac drives are experimentally investigated. The experimental setup, based on a 40- hp induction motor, loaded with a dc generator and fed from an adapted commercial inverter, is run in an anechoic chamber equipped with microphones, accelerometers, and current and voltage sensors.
