Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering: Degree Requirements

The doctor of philosophy requires a total of 72 semester credit hours:
  • 48 credits of course work
  • 30 of these credits must be in courses numbered 700 or above
  • 24 dissertation credits
A Ph.D. candidate must sucessfully complete:
  • Qualifying Exams- taken before beginning the program
  • Comprehensive Exams- taken after course work and before research project
