Antenna Anechoic Chamber
Electrical Engineering Department
University of Nevada, Reno

The University of Nevada, Reno has one of the largest university antenna anechoic chambers in the western United States. The instrumented facilities are available to interested parties for both antenna pattern measurement and electromagnetic compatibility and susceptibility measurements on either a lease or research contract basis. The facility is 15 by 30 by 11 feet in size with an adjacent 9.5 by 12 foot screen room with instrumentation. The chamber absorbing material is RAP-18 pyramidal foam.

The Department has worked with a variety of industries on both antenna and EMC prequalification measurements. A remotely controlled turntable and antenna mast are available and all equipment is periodically calibrated. Calibrated antennas and measurement instrumentation are available up to 40 GHz. Interested parties can provide their own engineers or department expertise and student assistance is available. Prices are attractive and depend on resources required.
