Andrzej M. Trzynadlowski, Ph.D. , F.I.E.E.E .

Dr. Andrzej Trzynadlowski

Professional Biography

     Andrzej M. Trzynadlowski received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering, the M.S. degree in electronics, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Wroclaw (TUW), Poland. He worked at the TUW, University of Salahuddin in Iraq, University of Texas at Arlington, and University of Wyoming. Since 1987, he has been with the University of Nevada, Reno, where he is now Professor of Electrical Engineering. In 1997, he spent seven months at the Aalborg University in Denmark as the Danfoss Visiting Professor. In 1998, he was a Summer Faculty Research Fellow at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Annapolis, Maryland.

     Dr. Trzynadlowski has authored or coauthored more than 150 publications on power electronics and electric drive systems, and he has been granted 12 patents. He is the author of The Field Orientation Principle in Control of Induction Motors (Kluwer, 1994), Introduction to Modern Power Electronics (Wiley, 1998), and Control of Induction Motors (Academic Press, 2001). He has written chapters for Modern Electrical Drives (Kluwer, 2000), Control in Power Electronics (Academic Press, 2002), and Power Electronics Handbook (Academic Press, 2006). His sponsored projects at the UNR have been funded in the excess of 1.4 million dollars.

     Dr. Trzynadlowski is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics and IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, and a member of the Industrial Drives and Industrial Power Converters Committees, IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS). He is Chair of the Fellow Nominations and Awards Subcommittee of the IAS-IPCC. He was the recipient of 1992 IAS Myron Zucker Award. He is listed in Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who.s Who among America.s Teachers.
